While at the range ... long story short ... a 1942 production 'U.S. Property'
1911, sn: 800,000 range!

I doubt it's been shot very often ... all looks almost new/and it's all
original. The guy wanted to get some money together for an old
High Standard .... I had the cash and she's now got a new home!

Well, I do know it went along with a battlefield commission after the Battle of the Bulge in '44/'45.
I did get the guy's name - his nephew sold it to me.

I repeatedly asked the guy if he really wanted to sell a part of his family's past and he assured me that he had no interest in continued ownership - no other family members were interested in it, either! ... that closed the deal!

I'd never sell anything like that from our families history ... especially, a personal firearm!

That makes me wonder if his family history didn't include names like Al Capone and Baby Faced Nelson!

... yeah, you might be onto something there!

Like I said, I tried to talk him out of selling a family (gun) heirloom ... but he wanted the
money more. Normally, I'd have a problem with that, too ... except I have a friend who
did the same thing a few years back. Although, not common, I've seen it before when it
comes to guns and Liberals. I'm thankful it wasn't dumped in the Pacific by the local LEOs
and onne of their 'turn in' programs .
