I have a Bushnell Trophy 1.75 to 5X on my Savage 99T in 300 Sav; and a 3200Elite 3-9X on my Savage110 in 30-06.  Both excellent scopes.  The "Sportsman" series scopes are in a class that are set aside, on their own, when you look them up on the Bushnell Site.  Don't know if they are their discount line?????  If you haven't lloked, check out the site.

I have a 15 year old Bushnell 3x9 that i use on my Remington auto .3006, and on my 12 ga slug gun.  It still works good, the only problem is that at 9x, the crosshairs are not very defined, but are still usable.  Under 7x or so, it is very sharp.    I have a 5 year old Bushnell Sportview 1.5x-4.5 on my Marlin .35Rem that is very good all round.  I have a Bushnel trophy 3X9 on a .223 that is even better.

I think the newer ones are much better than the older ones, but the older ones were still pretty good.

I have a Redfield that is not as clear as ANY of my bushnels.  I use it to wedge my tool box lid open.

I have a Burris that i got from Midway during one of their sales, it is very good too.  But to be honest, the Bushnel trophy seems just as good as the burris.

The Burris is American made though, which i consider important.

Deerhunter,

If you consider being American-made important, then you will surprised to hear that Burris is no longer American-made (or at least American-owned.)

In October, Burris was bought out by Italian manufacturer Beretta.
