Pistol grip
« on: September 25, 2006, 06:58:39 AM »
When I shoot my contender in handgun mode, and I use a cartridge that has a recoil I find it hard to hold.  I am left handed and small handed.  I took a left hand grip and worked it down to fit my hand; however, I still find it uncomfortable.

Is there a grip that help steady one's hold?  Maybe a handgun thumbhole?

Pistol shooting is a bit tedious. I build stocks for fun and found that a grip with a flat oversize fore plate to rest the gun on a bench will increases accuracy. You can work the grip down to fit your hand. Just remember to work the sides as well as the front and back. Try not to take any off the bottom and top unless needed. Good luck  ;)

Try pachmayr grips, much more comfortable to shoot. It will require some modification to the inside of the grip to make the opening function easier, easy to do with a dremmel tool.
