Belt fed machinegun

I would like to know how a round is chamberd from one of those canvass belts I think was used by the old Browning guns. Thanks for any information. Ron

the bolt pulls the round from the belt where it drops down to the chamber and is forced in.

These are Browning 1919a4's .. alot of these guns were sold to Israel and converted from 30-06
to 7.62 (308)  and small changes to the feed assy and now use links instead of belts..
