Annual Fall Handi-holic Confessions
« on: September 22, 2006, 07:25:01 AM »
Hello, my name is Mike and I am a Handiholic.

It’s been more than a year since my last meeting of HA (Handiholic Anonymous), commonly known as the “Annual P-Dog Shoot in Hooker, Oklahoma”, chaired by the good man, Brother Wes.

I thought I could kick the habit when I had a rifle and shotgun in every cartridge offering, but alas I was wrong.  I have since found out about multiple rifles in the favorite cartridges like the 45-70 and 38-55 (quadruples in Buffalo Classic and Twins in the Target Model).  Fellow handi-holic, Brother Quickdtoo has been tempting me in the ways of “Re-chambering” and “Re-boring”, is there no end?

I thought maybe H&R/NEF was putting some kind of infectious substance/material into these little American made guns that when you handled one, it made you buy it.  So, I had one tested by a “Center for Disease Control and Prevention” Lab, but they couldn’t find anything.  They sent it back with a note about getting me tested, but we agreed that wouldn’t do any good, because I am just a carrier and not the cause.

Another symptom is waiting for the Annual H&R/NEF Catalog to come out, and searching through it for the proof of new cartridge and configurations to go harass my gun dealer about.

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on what is causing “handi-holic-ism”?

Sure...It's form and function...

Nothing too complicated...ease of use...simple to repair or customize...exceedingly accurate...and not to mention...multiple calibers...custom calibers are do-able..and many thousands of people "just like you" with the same affliction...

What's not to love?

Mac ;D ;D ;D

What Mac said!!! ;) And it's extremely contagious, usually prompted by sight alone, there doesn't always need to be any physical contact, so it may be as much of some sort of "buy me" or "hold me" ESP or some such!! ;D

I tend to agree with Quick , all you have to do is walk past a Handi or any H&R / NEF and they call to you .  :o
