How do the 4200's stack up against the Conquest and VXIII?

The Bushnell 4200 elite will do well in a comparison between the other two..........however........

That's a pretty general question........

If weight matters then get a leupold as they 4200 is a big heavy scope.

If eye relief matters then either a leupold or ziess.

If buying american matters get a leupold.

Honestly there are several great scopes that you didn't include......Kales....svworski being 2.....the nikon monarchs are quite good........for the money It would be hard to beat a Burris black diamond or signature series..........

For customer service leupold would be my choice.......

Over all, all things considered the leupold was what I voted for......

Well, maybe I should have worded my poll differently.  Price is not a consideration because these scopes are all under $500.00.  That takes the Kahles and Swarovski out of the picture.
The Burris Black Diamond would be over $500 as well.  I didn't include the Signature Select because I like to use flip up lens covers and the power ring on the Burris moves the whole eyepiece but since the Zeiss might be the same way I suppose I will add it.  The Nikon Monarch and Weaver Grand Slam would meet my requirements as well so I will include them also.  I will most likely buy one of the 3 scopes I had listed origionally.  I would however be interested in peoples opinions of any scope of at least 9x preferably 10x with and objective of 40mm or greater that is under $500.00.  This will be on a rather heavy .270 so weight is not really an issue.  4" of eye relief isn't needed on this rig but it is nice to have.

Then a Bushnell Elite 4200 would work well for you........

Really, the two main things I look for in a scope are brightness and clarity on the edges.  Most of the top end scopes in the more popular brands are very good in this aspect.......

Then you have features like the rain guard coating and fire fly reticle on the bushnells........

Honestly, no two fellows sees the same way and it's really a matter of personal preference.

You won't go wrong with the Bushnell Elite 4200, Nikon Monarch, Zeiss Conquest, Burris Signature select, or Leupold VX-III.

If your just looking at brightness and clarity I'd give a slight edge to zeiss and it would be a tough call between the others........

After brightness, clarity and features comes customer service which IMO is far to often over looked.  It's leupolds reputation for great customer service that makes the leupold a small step above the rest......
