new stock for my .17...
« on: December 24, 2006, 02:00:18 AM »
hey all, i ain't been on here in ages.  it is nice to see a lot of ya still on here.  any who, i am gunna be going home soon, and was wanting to get a new stock for my NEF .17HMR.  i was wanting a wood stock for it, something that i don't have to do any work to, (do to my lack of craftsman ship, lol), i was hoping to find something that i can just drop in, and shoot.  do any of ya'all have any ideas?  and how roughly much it will cost?  thanks for any input.

Cw

H&R has alot of stocks that will just bolt on , the blond or camo lams are nice , also they have a Mossy Oak camo set that works well in the woods .

Prices are less that $100 with shipping , their number is in the FAQs at the top of the centerfire forum , they are closed till after new years but give them a call then and they will fix you right up .

Crow Waxer...

Great hearing from you, young man..Thanks for your service !
Stimpylu gave you about as much info as I can ..except to offer that Krylon paints has a line of camo paints that you can eitheruse to shade effect on or spray silhouette over leaves etc.
The camo works well on the synthetic stocks, especially if you spray a coat of Krylon "fusion", a plastic paint, for a base.
It worked very well on my 880SQ Marlin synthetic stock. Hard to paint digi camo though !...LOL

So tell us old Marlin Talk folks..where did you go ? What did you do and what was your MOS ?

My grandson went in the Corps about the same time as you..he had one deployment with the 22nd MEU (spec Ops) and is expecting another soon with 2/10 . He was in Al Anbar..FOB was at Hit, Iraq..MOS, armorer...but with Spec Ops he was with .50 cal on Humvee, kicking in doors and his unit's designated sniper/overwatch.

Anyway..great hearing from you..and again, THANKS..                                          Ironglow
