Big Bill,

Is this an 1891 or 1909 model?

I went back today and looked at it again and its 1909 in very good condition. I found out most were recalibered to 30-06 when they first got here in the "US".  This one is in '06. I picked it up today I just couldn't pass it up.
All the markings are clear like new. Its marked "Republic Del Peru" and has the crest and under the crest is "mauser orginal" on the side is "waffenbrik mauser oberndorf a/n modelo 1909" it also has a lange sight and a 30" barrel. Its just hard to pass up guns this old in great condition.  I also heard they are rare.                                                       BigBill

I found this gun on the net go to:
http://exboard.com/bparallaxscurioandrelicfirearmsforums

then go to "C&R gun collecting" click on "Spanish" then page "3" click on "1909 pervuain rifle very bad & fair news" then go to the bottom of that article and click on that address my gun is there up close shots what the gun and crest looks like exactly. And you will see why I had to buy it.
