Twenty four  (24) Wisconsin and Minnesota trappers  loaded up Bogmasters  trapping supply trailer in approximately 20 minutes.... can you believe that?  Tom and his wife were flabbergasted and in a whirlwind of mind... whooooosh-what-oh my gosh!  Tom and the Mrs got home at a  decent hour and had a leisurely supper, right Tom...

 Not quite 24.I think they were more flabergasted than me,one of the few times in all these years,I have accepted loading help.
 Had to get home,to pick up our new pup and our cocker from the kennel.Next year,that new lab,will be riding shotgun .At 16 weeks he weighs 43 1/2 pounds,should be close to 100 pounds by next convention season.

Oh boy, Trapper Arts Rascal will have a playmate now during shows!.  Yep, understand Tom about loading as everyone has thier way so everything fits plus you  know or think you know where things are.  Hope you had a good rondy..

What color Lab did you get Tom? I have a yellow male 120 pounder. Quite the dog he is! Hope you have a lot of excess energy left over after a day on the beaver line Tom, your going to need it to keep up with one of these pups! Mine is five now and still pesters me continually to play, take him for a ride, whatever. Maria and I said to each other he needs some ten year old kids to keep up with him.  That didn't work either, had the Grandson  here last Summer and the Lab wore him out shortly too. Ace

 Asa,this guy is black.He likes his naps,gotta love that.I think he is growing so fast,he needs to rest.
 He can reach anything on the table or counters,we are not puppy proofed around here.The house breaking has gone fairly well.My main problem,the smell of hanging castors.Seems like it may be some kind of laxative for him.have found a couple surprises in my work room. .
 He rides real well,unlike our other dog--she has hated riding ,since she was a pup.
 I am debating on whether to take him on a duck hunt ,after conventions are done.The timing was not real good on us getting him.Right in the middle of the heavy convention season,is not the best time to be training a hunting dog.
 He is napping right now,so I better get some work done.

Cool that the guys got you out of Marshfield in short order.
New Lab pups are always fun and have a way of making a place in the family. As you know I have 3 labs here right now and have had as many as 5 at times.
I'm fortunate that my wife has the house breaking thing down to almost a science. Most of the pups we have had here were going to the door at 10 to 12 weeks. We have had accidents over the years but not as many as some.
There is a very good book out there called I believe? ( How to house break your dog in seven days).
It is money well spent to pick up a copy and give it a read. Especially if it has been a while since you dealt with house breaking a pup.
And by all means take him hunting, just don't expect much when he's young. Let him learn to like being out there with you. The rest will fall into place.

Most Labs, at least the 3 i've had are so smart that it only takes one lesson to housebreak them or teach them most anything. We had another yellow Lab that someone left on our doorstep that was only about 6 or 7 weeks old. When she went on the floor my Wife grabbed her, grapped some paper towels and scooped it up sying no, no, no all the time. Then she opened the back door and threw the Lab and papers right out into 3 feet of snow. Believe it or not, that Lab never went on the floor again, it learned at tht young age. I guess my wife has dog training down to a science too! :)Ace

I have a 14 month old black male lab who wieghs in a  just over 100 lbs. he is real personable and smart as  a whip.

labs  you either get a good one or a bad one   there is no in between.
