Life after Jeff Cooper, et al.

My favorite gun authors are dead. Jeff Cooper's passage just reminded me of it.

I really liked Elmer Keith and George Nonte.  I was just reading George Nonte's Handloading for Handgunners this weekend and he went to a level of detail that you just never see anymore. I was amazed at how well he compared and contrasted revolver and auto cartridges in that book. It was a real education.

Today, I'd say that Brian Pearce is the best gun writer.

Have you seen any good new books on guns? I need a couple of new gun books for the winter.

Was very sorry to hear of Coopers passing. I enjoyed Cooper, but my faves that I can read over and over are Skeeter and Bill Jordan.
I like Pearce too. Not really new, but I imagine you've read Taffins books on Big Bores. Pretty good read. And for nuts and bolts Gil Hebberds "Pistol Shooters Treasury" is hard to beat. Just got Ropers Experiments of  a handgunner, havent got deep into it yet though.
