I have a couple of Pietta 1860 Armies that shoot 'way high, like 12 inches or more at 25 yards.
I know various shooters have various solutions: aim low, dovetail in new sights, etc.
How do you remove that factory front sight? I have time and brass stock, am contemplating filing out a replacement and put it back in the same place, the same way it came out. Then take it to the range and file as needed to sight it in.
I know that Nate Kiowa Jones in Texas will do a great job of dovetailing in a nice-looking replacement, but I'd like to try this first.
What do you think?
