You can have installed any P14/M17 barrel of your choice. This is a large action and .223 would be silly, but your bucks.
Mr. Epps of Canada had a line of improved cartridges on the .303 case and rechambered the P14's in .303 to the .303 Canadian Magnum... .300 Savage preformance in the SMLEs and .308 preformance in the P14s using the .303 case.
