On my RMEF .280 the words are spelled out on the side of the receiver with the year, 1996, I believe. I'm not at home right now and am a bit embarrassed to say that I've not taken the it out of the safe in a while, so I'm going by memory. There may also be a medallion in the right side of the stock. The wood is cinnamon laminated just like the Ultra's.
Other than the RMEF identification I don't believe they are any different than an Ultra. The NEF medallion versions that are available also come with laminated wood (Camo), but the stocks are not usually checkered as with the Ultra's.
When I get home this afternoon, I'll pull it out and provide more detail.
By the way, I've been looking for a .35 Whelen to match the .280, but have been unsuccessful, so far.
