Rear sight removal on Model 1894
« on: October 04, 2006, 11:24:51 AM »
Just had gunsmith install Marble Tang sight om my 1894 Cowboy 44 Mag.  The rear buckhorn sight is in my line of sight.  How do you remove the rear sight?

Take it back to the Smith have him tap it out and fill it with a slug to protect the dovetail.
How much money must we spend before we learn to concentrate on the front sight?"Col Jeff Cooper"

Got answer to my question from Marlin customer service.  Put rifle in vise, use wooden dowel, tap out left to right.  Worked like a champ.
