finish on stainless barrel

my 7x57 mauser project is almost finished. i need to drill and tap and screw this new barrel on and i am done...

however...the barrel i got cheaper than i expected is stainless...so...how do i make it the same color as the rest of the rifle? can i have it powder coated or is there a brownells product i can use?

Powder coat or any of the spray finishes put over an aluminum oxide blasted finish.

KG Gun Kote works great, and comes in many colors. If you have a spray gun get the liquid, you'll have more control. If you must, get the aerosol cans but they're way harder to get a nice job with.

Actually it can be done either way..  Depends on the jig you are using,, The B-Square jiog must be used without the barrel installed, others work best with a barrel in the action..
