PRS, it looks like the Dutchman on the SASS Wire will be getting the new .44 BP moulds from Lee this week. He stated, as you know, that they will have one huge lube groove (hmmmmmmmm, sound familiar?  :wink: ). I only hope & pray that it shoots as well as your much lauded design and weighs near the target weight of 200 gr.

By the way, have you ever heard of MCM BP lube? It's the #1 commercial BP lube used by Civil War reenactors. Better than SPG IMHO & cheaper. However, it's not cheaper than the homemade stuff. I recommend it highly. A dash of bayberry and a little lanolin and ........ :wink: a whole lotta love!

Yo back to ya Boge!

Yeah; when the mad Dutchman announced his project I really consdered going in with him to reserve one; eventhough I do not currently own a .44/40.  If I ever re-tool. 44/40 would be high on my list.  I balked at jumping in on the deal since his design was going to be his original and exclusive two large groove modification suitable for all .44 calibers and I could not figgure out how he could pull it off and stay in line with weight and balance.  Seems like Doug at Lee could not figure it out either with his tooling limitations and maybe re-directed the project to a single groover.  Too bad; I would of liked to have seen what the Old Boy had on his mind.  Anyways, I posted to Mav's thread about my willingness to buy in if somebody who reserved one dropped out.  I hope it works.  I am anxious to see a pic posted of one and some results of experiments and shooting accuracy.

Regards;
