contender wont fire #2
« on: October 06, 2006, 12:10:57 AM »
Sent my contender back monday to TC and got it back yesterday. They replaced the hammer with a the selector style. The hammer still will not stay cocked. They said they test fired it which Im sure they did. After about 4 dry fires when I first opened it then wouldnt hold at all.Its like the sear is not holding it .Could a heavier hammer spring that they put in be the culprit? With the hammer even at safe (first click) it doesnt always catch there either. If on occasion I can can get it to hold back you can breathe on it and the hammer will fall.Any ideas? This is getting old.Im out $40.00 bucks for overniting it to them already!

Are you trying it with the same barrel you sent to TC?

Did you check your trigger adjustment screws?  are they loose?  work in or out in shipping?  Sounds like sear engagement to me.
