I don't have a G2 handy but I was in Germany for several yrs. I am sure you are aware, but just to make sure you don't end up too aggrevated. You have to a German weapons card to have a firearm in Germany. In order to do that you have to belong to either a sport shooting or a hunting club. I also recall being told that the German government had to proof test your gun and stamp it. I jumped through all the hoops and spent about $1500 to get my German weapons card only to be told "We are not proccessing any at the moment" , for 2 yrs. I finally just brought it home on leave and left it with my folks. Now even if you manage to get all of that done, you have to be invited by someone to hunt, you have to have hunter's insurance, and you do not get to keep the animal unless you pay for it.
Things may have changed in the last 1-2 yrs but probably not that much. If you already knew these things, sorry I wasted you time. Godd luck, I hope it all goes well.
