........did they get a bad batch of soft steel. I have never seen this problem of gas cutting on a plug before, but to me it looks like the flash hole is enlarging prematurely, and the gas has to go somewhere. I'm thinking that T/C either got a bunch of soft steel, or maybe tried a new vender and the steel may not be up to par. Any of you guys with Encores, Omegas or G2's experience this phenomenon of the ? If any of you are experiencing lots of blow-back, maybe it is time to check the size of your flash hole, it is probably enlarged.
Just wanted to report this from a possible SAFETY standpoint. We need to police ourselves, because we all know that lots of companies are cutting corners on costs (steel) these days and quality will suffer as a result. I'm thinking it is a issue with a bad batch (run) of soft steel, hopefully T/C is getting to the bottom of it.
The Encores/G2's and Omegas have been out for several years now, you would think this would have surfaced before now if it were an ongoing problem. I do know that there are at least 3 versions of Breech Plugs for these rifles and may be unique to only one of the designs, but that flash hole looks way to large to my eye in the pic of the new plug.
Check your plugs!
