My shop is simply a framed in, insulated, finished part of the garage. The original owner/builder did not provide for any climate control to the room, which is where I plan on storing my components and doing my reloading. The temperature in the winter can get down to about 55 in the room (heat from the rest of the house probably keeps it warm to this level) regardless of what the temps are outside. In the summer, it can get into the 80s in that room on a 100 deg day. In the summer we can have some humidity, but not like the South or SE U.S.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not the temperature swings or lack of climate control would affect the powder(s), primers or ammo? I do have thousands of empty brass cases, some primers, powder and loaded ammo to store.....in the past its all been kept in climate controlled areas of my previous home, but now I am wondering.
Unfortunately, there is NO easy way to get climate control into the room. A radiant heater for the winter is easy of course, but as for the rest of it, I think the way the house is built will preclude anything permanent from being done.
I'm open for ideas on this one.....
Thanks!
