Sold on T7 209 Primers!
« on: October 08, 2006, 12:06:40 PM »
Winchester has done it with these T7 209 primers, at least in my Sidekick. I went to the range today with .50 Sidekick-3x9 Redfield widefield. I had been geting crud ring with 90 gr. T7 and standard 209 Wins. Shooting 300 gr. SST over 90 gr. T7 and noched same hole-three shot group at 50 yrds. The best part is no I say no crude ring at all! By the way throw the Hornady sabots away and use Harvester Crush Rib sabots, they load so easy didn't have to use bullet starter! Any ways I hope someone can use this imfo.
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.

A good friend of mine swears by the new Winchester T7's. I guess I will break down and buy a box and I have heard a lot of good things about the crush rib sabots ::)

I got my Huntsman out for the first time this weekend.  I also used 777 powder and the Winchester 777 primers.  I had no problems with any kind of "crud ring".

Having only used Pyrodex in muzzleloaders before, I was amazed at how easy the clean up was.

Seems to be working for me.
