"One parties platform says it supports, and promotes killing babies, the other party doesn't. One party says that it supports, even promotes gay marriage, the other opposes it.One party says that citizens should NOT be allowed to own, or posess firearms, the other supports our 2nd amendment rights."
1) The Dems do NOT promote abortion. They do believe that there exists a right to such a procedure.
I don't. I am absolutely against abortion, no exceptions.
However, it is one thing to support such an act and another to "promote" it. I don't see any candidate running an ad saying "women should have more abortions". So the idea that the Dems "promote" abortions is wrong.
2) Gay marriage - homosexuality is a topic that GB does not want to see discussed, so in deference to him, I'll stay away from it. No problem.
3) 2nd Amendment - the idea that the Dems somehow want no one to possess firearms is ridiculous. Show proof, powderman.Where is that in the platform of the national campaign or in any campaign literature for any Democrat.
C'mon, guys - telling yourselves these sorts of stories to justify a vote against a Dem is beneath you. There are PLENTY of reasons not to vote for Dems. Shouldn't, however, your vote be an informed one instead of just buying into the lies you've been told and chosen to believe.
I don't vote for either major party. WmRoy, you believe that makes me part of the problem. I'm OK with that, actually. No feathers ruffled. I tend to think that part of the problem we have in this country is when either party has both legislative branches and the executive branch. I think we are safest with a divided government.
