Looking for a Xbow for my dad
« on: October 09, 2006, 11:04:22 AM »
Due to several eye surgeries my dad can no longer shoot a compound due to being unable to see the sights. I am looking for a starter type bow for a 71 year old man that has hunted all his life.  I will mount a scope on it for him. Scopes still work for him but open sights are out.  Anyone here have a starter gathering dust? thanks.  csnfitz@yahoo.com

Most starter xbows are iffy??? With the Exception of Excaliber xbows. Look for a used Vixen or a new one ( You can get one at ebay for 285 dollars new) and set it up for him. If he has hunted all his life it would be a diservice to buy him a cheap xbow that would not make him happy and leave him disatisfied. Othe choice if you cannot swing an Excaliber or find one would be a Decent Horton Compound not the Steel Force recurve. You want to see how guys are satisfied about Excaliber xbows check out their web site and forum. You will hear over and over what I have told you.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Nothing wrong with the Horton compounds they make nice xbows also.
