Has anybody ever used the Fedreal power shok in 125gr HP or the federal power shok 150 FN  on whitetail deer or what do ya'll think would be better on deer 80lbs to 150lbs at under 100yards.

170 grain power shok is deadly and accurate ... the 150 grain would certainly work. The 125 gr HP was intended as a varmit load but would kill a deer even though I never tried one and never would. It will not hold together like the 170/150 grain bullet. The 170 grain is specificly made to mushroom and do the job at 30-30 velocities as are the 150 gr bullets. I just prefer the little more umph that the 170 gr gives going through a deer.

I've been experimenting with factory .30-30 loads and found that the power shok 150's and 170's both group pretty good on paper. The only ammo I have hunting experience with is Remington's core-lok 170 grain. I took a whitetail at 65 yards, shot it through the neck quartering away from me. Due to the the angle of the shot the bullet penetrated 10 inches. It destroyed the spine and lodged under the skin on the other side in a perfect mushroom, didn't have to track him down he fell on the spot. The longest shots  I can take are about 75 yards with all the hilly and thick woods. With my shots being close, I like the heavier 170 grain. On the remington core-lok the 170 grain has a better BC than the 150 grain. ;D

I bought some of the 125 jhp for coyote.
love the way thay shoot flatbut I havn't gotten to kill anything with them
should have enough energy for deerbut not any farther out than the 150 or 170 fn
we are accostomed to.

I once dropped a 145# buck (dressed) with a 170g fn.
The bullet traveled through brush, a 5" tree stump hidden in the brush,
the deers chest, and stuck in the cottenwood tree behind him.

Thats what the "thuddy thuddy" is all about.
