Deer hunting clothes for PA
« on: October 10, 2006, 02:38:53 AM »
I have an $80 Kmart coverall that doesn't fit me any more. I'm looking for recommendations on an overall/jacket for PA rifle season and winter predator hunting. Are Carhartts any good? Should I be looking at something else. I don't mind spending money if it is going to keep me warm.
thanks

It has been said that good quality warm winter clothing will only retard the chill - that is that one must fuel the body and/or remain active to stay warm for extended periods of time. I believe this to be true. Sooo...as per the other part of the equation, your question - Your budget will dictate what winter clothing you will opt for. The K-mart overalls probably arent all that warm as you know. I think that some wool lined overall/bibs li,e carharrts, as you suggested, would suffice. Cabelas carries some very good gear as well. I wear the Dry plus waterproof pants with MPT underwear underneith and the MT050 jacket with microfleece as an undergarment. With this set up, I can sit for hours in cold rain and wind and I'm good to go.
