Powder drop AND case belling on the Hornaday LnL
« on: October 11, 2006, 12:41:40 PM »
I'm on the verge of purchasing the Hornaday LnL.  One feature that seems to be lacking on the Hornaday LnL progressive is the ability to drop powder AND bell the case at the same time.  I have found other posts that claim you  can modify a Lyman "thru" expander to work with the LnL.  However, I found Hornaday's Quick Change Powder Die, that works with the case activated powder drop, and it drops powder AND bells the case at the same time.     It seems this die would free up a station so that you could use Hornaday's Powder Cop Die and have a system the works just like a Dillon.  Am I missing something or what?  Does anybody use or have experience with these two Hornaday dies??

Have been using the integrated case bell and powder drop since it came out a few months back and now have over 1000 45's and an equal number of 9mm through the system.
Works like a charm and yes, like you are thinking, I added PowderCop in station 3.
Love the setup.
I know this post will bring out the "Blue Reloader" group extolling the virtues of Dillon over all else but I could not be more satisfied with the ease and reliability and speed of the LnL system.
Go for it!  I believe Midway sells the expander for around 7 or 8 bucks-money well spent.
