Model '94 takedown
« on: October 11, 2006, 01:25:24 PM »
Hi guys can I easily take down my model '94 easily for routine cleaning from breech end? This is a top eject circa 1970s. I removed the main "lever screw" but don't want to get messed up unhooking the bolt. Is it easy with next larger screws on each side or do you clean from muzzle?
Thanks

Clean it from the muzzle, until you can acquire a complete schematic and familiarize your self. Besides screws, you have drift pins to contend with, you lose one and off to the gunsmith you go!  The average shooter probably does not have to do a complete take down cleaning but once every five years.

I only ask because I'll be running hundreds of cast thru 'er; I can take the "bolt" out of my Marlin 1894 in just a few seconds...
Thanks, Ed
