Cracked stock Mosin Nagant
« on: October 12, 2006, 06:44:29 AM »

I've looked at a few Nagant's and this type of crack in stock seems prevelant?
Someone drilled and plugged mine with wooden dowels. I honestly didn't notice it until I got it home last month. It was still the better pick out of the three I looked at. Feels really tight, guess I'm going to leave it unless I can visually hand select one. I hate to send off and get the same problem delivered to me.

its not a crack.. its made that way.. look at the wood grain.. it dont follow the "line"
making stocks that way was a cost savings during the war years..
