Got the load, need a velocity.

SOMEWHERE  I got a load consisting of 26 gr. of 2400 under a 335 gr. WLN bullet sparked with a Rem. 7 1/2 primer for the 454 Casull, but, there was no velocity available.  If anybody has that information I'd appreciate having it posted.

Found a load using 26 gr. of H110 instead of the 2400 you listed for the 454 Casull with WLN bullet. It does show velocity of 1500 fps for that load.

The only way to know what velocity you are getting from your gun with any load is to use a chronograph. They can be purchased for less than a good press and all of them are accurate enough for the average shooter. My favorite brand is Pact. A chronograph won't help you develop a safe or accurate load but it will tel you how fast your bullet is going so you can use ballistic software to predict your trajectory.

I have the chrono, just thought I'd see if I could get some figures to know if I'm close to where I want to be with this load before I load up a bunch of them and find they are screamers.  I'd prefer a slow to medium load.

Like I said the only way to know how fast the loads are in your gun is to run a few of them over a chonograph. there is no guaranty that my gun will be close to yours in velocity. load 5 up and shoot them or find an accurate load and then run a few over the chronograph.

Every time I load a new load for whatever Handgun or rifle. I load three extra and shoot them threw my conagraph. That way any change in velocity I'll know.
