Any Oregon Airgunners out there?
« on: October 15, 2006, 11:32:18 AM »
Just a thought, maybe we could discuss local airgun hunting, arms and accessories. Maybe trade hunts? Help each other out a bit? Just a thought! I'm Ron in Beaverton. Previously North Bend near Coos Bay on the coast and Medford back in the day. Now a am looking to find some areas to shoot vermin and hunt squirrels so when my kids get a bit older they can be taught the shooting sports. At present I own a Airforce Talon SS in .22 cal. and its my faveorite airgun to date. I've had several in my 43 yrs. But this one fits the bill for me. I am currently a bit depressed with the new millinium wave of liberal thinking, making us out to be nearly criminal! Hell I just want to have fun and so far since I have moved near Portland I can only find a couple miserable places to shoot. US forestry is my best so far. I will keep trying to seek out a kind land owner though. There is bound to be one that could even benifit from a few less pests around ??? Anyhow, lets chat a bit about this. What do ya say ???

Not much of a resonse....I'm from Oregon but live up in Washington now (military). Oregon is my home of record and I almost always have an air rifle with me when I return to hunt.  I favor the simplicity of springers though. My main two rifles are a M54 .22 cal and a R9 .20 cal.  I hunted around Salem years ago with a BB gun as a kid and then seriously with a Webley and FWB 124 in NE Oregon (LaGrande) in the '70s and '80s.  I still have property out North Powder way and still manage a few picket pins and jack rabbits.  You might check with orchard owners there around where you live in the valley as there used to be good grey digger shooting down around Dayton and McMinnville.
