270 amo question
« on: October 16, 2006, 09:44:24 AM »
What does your 270 like to shoot? I purchased another handi, would like to find out which amo to try,  I don't want spend alot of money on something it don't like.

Has to be store bought, I don't reload. Has any one had any luck with S&B amo.

Thanks for your help

I think you need to take a look at Fusion ammo (an off-shoot of Federal). I have not used it personally but I was going to use them in my 270 (Stevens 200) I did not think I would have time for load development but I got lucky. I have seen lots of good targets posted and it not too expensive.

I get good results using Winchester 130 gr. Power Points.  If I'm having a good shootin' day, the .270 will print 1" 3 shot groups.

i tried S&B once just a few years back for my .223 and found different lots of bullets in packages all labelled from the same lot!

do they know what we American's want when we say, " consistency"?

i'd stay away from S&B and buy American, personally.
