I have an S1 Sightron, I also have a bunch of Swift Premiers, the S1 is a not a great scope compared to any of the Swifts if you stick with the Premier line or Premium as they are now called. FWIW, the Sightron SII scopes are excellent, but more money, too. Even the less expensive Bushnell Banners that I have are better than the S1. The Swift 656 is a standard line, I wouldn't recommend it, I have seen too many complaints about them. I would recommend a Bushnell Trophy or Legend, or the Nikon Prostaff in that price range, I think you'll be much happier.

I like Swift scopes.  I've got one on a T/C contender that has done great work for about 5 years.  It's ridden on everything from a .22 to a .44 plus a .30-30 , a .35 Rem.  It cost my $90.  I'll admit to buying it because it was cheap, but I'll buy another when I'm in the market for a mid-range hunting scope.

On the otherhand, I know NOTHING about Sightron scopes, so it's a pretty biased opinion.

Although I've never used the Sightron scopes, I really like the Swift Premiers.  Been using them for years.  Fully Multicoated, Photo etched reticles, and over the counter replacement warrenty.  I also love the speed focus for my aging eyes. Hope this helps.

I have no experience with the Swifts, but I have to agree with Quickd. Sightron S1's are ok but the sightron S2 is a great scope. If you do lean to the Sightrons get an S2, you will be glad you did.
