What to buy?

My main need right now is to find aluminum arrows I lose before someone steps on a broadhead, but I also think it would be fun to look for other stuff.  I don't want to spend a lot right now until I see if I like metal detecting.  Is there anything good under $200?  How about under $300?  $150?  I was told that Harbor Freight has some inexpensive ones, but ther stuff can be either bad or good sometimes.

   I have had a Troy Shadow II  (by Tesoro) for some years now, after having owned various brands over the last 40 years.
  Just turn on and go...and with it's very powerful miniaturized circuit, one little, common, square 9v battery will give longer life than many others with a whole batch of batteries..
   However; I have not been avidly into the THing for the last 5 years or so..things may have changed a bit.

Still like the Bounty Hunter Quickdraw II. Get a comfortable set of earphones at Radio Shack. Just can't see spending more than $500 for a device that can't do much better than what I have.

Use it mainly on old Calvary posts/campsites and dry creek-beds after a big rain for nuggets. Also flat land areas looking for metallic meteorites. Found 45-70 bullets and cases, buckles, no nuggets to date, an old silver dollar, and plenty of meteorites. I get out when ever time permits which may be 7-9 times a year, also take it along when camping,fishing, hunting, etc.
