my sons first deer hunt

this was his fiest hunt with his own gun. he harvested a 10 point, 17 inch spread, buck that feild dressed 170lbs. he used his new 45colt/410 i got him for his birhtday. i put a red head multi-reticle scope on it. he loves it. for Christmas we are moving up to a true handi. he did not like my 30/30 at first he felt so much more comfortable with the size, feel, and sound of the 45. i'm glad we started out with it. the last month with my son target shooting and then hunting has been has been great. i can't wait to add a few handi's to the fold. later, mike j.
p.s.we had our orange on during the hunt. we were back with truck to pick up the deer and take pics.

WOW!
Tell that young man Congratulations! He may hunt a long time trying to top that one. Wish I could have started my boy that young, was 12 with a bow and 14 with a gun until this year. They can hunt with a bow at 10 and 12 with a gun this year. Congratulations to you too.

Goosebumps here, too. A truly proud and memorable moment in both your lives. No matter how many he bags throughout his life, the first one is special.
Good shootin, young man. Great job, Dad.

Great Buck and a great way to spend time with a son or grandson. i wish my boys hunted but at 27 and 29 they have shown zero interest, so it's nice to see the joy on the youngmans face. Congrats. Jess

I'll echo the other fellas, that is an excellent deer. And I like the way you set up his Handi.
Congrats

I can't tell yall how much closer my son and am here recently. I hope this is something we both keep an interest in common. We had so much fun that day. Sharing a moment like that with my son was truly priceless in every sence of the word. Thanks again for the replies, compliments, and a truly "handi" site. lol!
