Pistol forearms
« on: October 18, 2006, 11:41:16 AM »
I have a Encore with the rubber forearm, I need to replace it with a wood so I can use a bipod with a sling stud.  Will the forearm of the Encore pistol 209X50
fit a standad pistol barrel?  I see it mentioned that they require different mounting hardware.  The 209X50 wood looks longer.

I`ve made several forearms for TC`s. If you can get hold of a rouder and a round bit that`s big enough for your barrel the job is about done. I inlay a piece of steel in the bottom of my forarms so that the barrel is free floated when the forarm is put on. Seems to help with accuracy.

Ok so I bought a rifle forearm today is there any reason not to just drill a extra hole in the forearm and just let the rest free float, Instead of drilling a third hole in the barrel

I wouldn`t worry about drilling a hole in a forarm if it did what I wanted it to do. But if your good with that chain saw,  ;D

I've drilled a hole in my Contender forearm stock to make it fit. It worked for me. I didn't even have to start my chainsaw.

Thanks for the replies
I purchased a pepper colored laminate rifle forearm and just drilled a hole for the second screw in the forearm, Then mounted a swivel stud appx 1 1/2'' in front of the mounting screw fore a bipod.  IMHO it looks pretty kewl with the rifle forearm on the pistol.
