Heres a good one. Back during bow season i found 1/2 of a broken arrow near my stand. I picked it up and stuck it in my stand. Well toward the end of gun season i killed a dear with 1/2 an arrow in its rear flank. Guess what, one and the same arrow. Matched up perfectly. Place had healed up totally with about 11 inches of arrow embedded in its flank.

Wow, You would think that either the broadhead or the fletching would have kept the wound so irritated it never would have healed.

That really is something. You would think it would become infected and kill the deer. Dale

Yew guys really need to get out in the woods more. Wild animals have an absolutely amazing capacity to heal and recover from even major wounds. These sort of things are very very common and generally seen by folks who spend a great deal of time out in the woods annually.

So true.  I once shot a blacktail buck on Kodiak, and when I dressed it I examined the heart (I always consume the hearts).  The heart exhibited severe scar tissue growth, clearly due to either a major heart attack or a severe infection.  If it had been you or me we'd be with the Lord now.  The buck was normal-sized and otherwise appeared in good health.  The scaring was probably at least a year old.

I pulled at a heart pine stump one time to break off some fire starting wood, and exposed a gallon jug.  Moonshine.  Underneath were two others.  This was on my grandma's place, and my grandpa was know to brew a little in his day.  He was long dead by this time.  He had to of been drunk when he hid it, or he would have come back for it.......

I also have a Springfield 22 rifle I found rolled up in a blanket and tied with string under a cedar tree.  I crawled under the branches to call crows and noticed it, was almost unwilling to open it.

The sheriff's dept. kept it for about six weeks, then called me to pick it up.  Its in my safe now, and shoots well.  Always figured someone's kid hid it out and couldn't find it again.

In 1975 I was deer hunting in my home state of Pennsylvania. I had stand hunted all morning and saw a few doe,and it was buck only back then. I decided to leave my stand and still hunt the afternoon. after sneaking through the wood for about 2 hours,I crested a hill, and saw a blaze orange figure lying on the ground , about 100 yards away,I started thinking the worst, did I just find the body of a dead hunter ? I started to walk toward the dead guy,and the closer I got,the more it looked like it was a dead guy. as i approached him I got relieved. Some A--hole stuffed an orange rain coat, and matching pair of pants with leaves,Boy was I relieved, but Pi$$ed off at the same time ! I was only 23 years old at the time ,and thought I was going to have a heart attack ! I was glad I did'nt find a body. I thought that was a cruel trick to play on anyone. Now I can laugh about it.

When I was stationed in Fairbanks AK (Ft. Wainwright)I loved to jump in my truck and explore some of the back roads. One summer day I drove up on 3 five gallon buckets out in the middle of nowhere. I got out of my truck and thought to myself I could use some buckets around the house for odds and ends. All 3 had their lids beat back on and sealed up tight, they also seemed to weigh better than 60lbs. Of course I tried to get the lids off and couldn't, at least not with my hands. I thought to myself I had something behind my seat that could open them up in a hurry. So I pulled out my 300 mag, took a lean off of the drivers side mirror and shot the nearest bucket about 30ft away. At the shot it pratically exploded and my first thought was cool that was neat !!! Then it started to rain down something brown and rank smelling. Yep thats right, sh_ _  just showered down on my truck and even a bit got on my favorite WV hat. After a good deal of cuss'n I backed the truck up quit a ways and shot the other two, they were also full of crap. From what I could tell it was dog crap, no I didn't taste it or cut open a turd and do a autopsy or anything, just went by observation. Lots of sled dogs up that way, could have been someone cleaning up the pin or a soldier that lived on post that is forced to clean up after their dog daily and saved up 15 gallons of dog turds. I always leaned towards the latter. I learned two things that day. 1. On a warm summer day rotting dog crap sealed up in a bucket is under a lot of pressure and when released with a 30 caliber bullet sends it everywhere. 2. If you happen to come upon a bucket and decide to open it with a bullet, do it from at least 50yds away.   Dave

My hunting buddy and I found a very old family cemetery out in the woods. The dates or names couldn't be read, except one name. He did some research and found they dated from the 1850's and was from the family that was the first recorded owners of the property. People that had lived in the area all their lives knew nothing about the graves being there.

I work for the state road dept, a couple of years ago I was called about a problem at one of the rest areas, the janitor told me there were 4 BIG ammo cans there, full of $h1t, I asked if she looked inside, she tells me no, but when she picked one up it sloshed and it was labelled as such. I called my boss, he couldn't decide whether to call a septic pumper or not. So I decide I'd better go take a look, sure enough 4 big ammo cans w/ labels on 'em. They were sealed with duct tape, so I load 'em up. Went to the landfill, they asked what I had, then said I couldn't dump it, if I wanted to wash 'em out and disenfect 'em, then they would be clean enough to take back to the landfill. WOW.

So as I was planning on how to get rid of this, I get a call from our resident engineer/queen bee, she was notified by the dump and wanted to make sure I was rectifying this in the right manner. So I went back, got all the proper hazmat aparrel, and washed the stinkin' things out at the sewer plant. The steam cleaner took most of the paint off. After all that I loaded 'em up and forgot to go to the dump, they stayed in the back of the truck for a week and a coworker helped himself to them!

I don't know how strange this is but it sure was nice. While pheasant hunting we ended up walking quite a bit further without a break than we had planned and I was becoming quite thirsty. The temperature was just above freezing. As I was walking my foot hit something in the grass. I looked down and there was an unopened can of beer. It sure hit the spot.

I remember going deer hunting with dad 45 years ago..We were in California on the two sides of a canyon about 400 yds apart.  Dad was sitting under a big oak in the shade smoking his pipe when i found hin in the binoculars.  As I watced a magnificent mule deer walked out and up to where he sat.  I could almost hear the sound as I saw him knock the dottle out of his pipe, pack it fresh and light it again.  Finally the muley walked off.  Later back at camp Iasked him about it.  "Well" he said "three things".  "Mostly I hunt for meat at the butchers, second I would have to pack him all the way back to camp, third and last he wasn't hunting me"  I then asked him why we were hunting in the first place.  "I'm not here hunting" he said "I'm here hiding from radio, television, and telephones.  Actually it's not so strange, i've fished through more than spring day with no hook or bait, just a weight.  People tend to let a fisherman sleep.

I've skipped over this thread several times but I'll go ahead and contribute. In 1978 I was squirrel hunting in Gainseville Florida behind the site work for what is now the Oaks Mall. The job superintendant and I stumbled across a Hippie commune and they were all skinny dipping in the lake. th;ey lived in tents and an old bus beside the lake. One of the not so shy young ladies ended up moving into the super's hotel and became is girlfriend for the durataion of the job. Oh yeah, and I shot 3 squirrels.

we were bird hunting back in the 70' and came out on a power line . We could see a jar on a stump about a 100 yards away . we hunted to it , i told dad it was shine he said no one would leave it there . Well we got to it and sure enough it was shine , good shine , we put it back an left . Told my uncler later and he said he forgot to tell us about the still . Said the bootlegger left a jar for the sheriff every so often .
Catching couples has happened also but that seems natural not strange .

I have a deer "honey hole" in northern Kansas that has a hackberry tree with two trunks that someway have grafted itself -- see photo.   I discovered this appx 11 years ago and the tree continues to grow and is healthy.   Usually everyone knows when a branch grows into another or a trunk etc it veers off and leaves a calouse or scar.  I checked with Kansas State University and they advise it is an extremely rare occurrance of nautral grafting.

A friend who drives truck stopped to releive himself on Hwy 50 here, he found a small suitcase under a cedar tree. In it was Catholic literature, a gold cup, etc. He knew my wife is Catholic so he brought it to her. She couldn't figure it out, showed it to our priest one night. He found a hidden address book and recognised one name in it, called the number and between the 2 of them they figured out it was a priest he knew. He returned it to the padre who said he remembered losing the suitcase, it contained the stuff to do last rites. He had stopped alongside Hwy 50 and said Mass, then walked off without it.

Me and a buddy of mine were walking a patch of woods that he had gotten permission to Dear hunt on. We were scouting it out before the season opened. When we came across an old Cemetery out in the middle of a clearing. The grass in the clearing was about knee high. But the cemetery was bare dirt no grass no weeds nothing. It had about 6 old head stones, we both got a cold shiver down our backs so we didn't stick around to read any of them. We told the owner what we had found and he knew the spot and as far as he could remember nothing had grown there since he was a boy. He said that he thought the cemetery dated back to the 1850's. Thats all he could tell us about it. But he said he nor his father had every set foot on it either. They just stayed clear of it. Needless to say we didn't hunt that patch of woods.

I have seen several references to old cemetery's on this thread.  Sitting back and thinking, that is really sad.  These people are gone and no one knows anything about their lives or who they were etc.

But looking back, I have no clue where my ancesters are buried.  Over time we will all be forgotten.

How about this guys .

Its for real ,no tricks .
Im standing beside the tree.
6 hours before this the clearing you see was also covered with the plants in the foreground.

6 hours before you would have seen this ,it is not a sunset or a sunrise.
That road runs North , and the clouds emanate from this.
if you look you can see the sky ,it was a clear and sunny day.

Look at the base of the light ,you will see a pillar of light coming up from the ground.

Its all science guys , and my belief in my Lord has taught me to do a lot of things we humans would usually not even try to figure out.

So how many trees do you have growing on your boat at sea? Dale

I didn't say it was taken at sea ,and i didn't take that photo .
I didn't know they had taken it until later.
Testing your knowledge ,i do that.
Making sure i am talking to intelligence and not a troll.
Lots of trolls these days.
Dale, you dig yourself in deeper with your assumptions of what i say.

At Sea this happens every so often ,on land it is very rare.
Ive seen the ones at Sea ,and one of them was as large as this.
Its the true Sailors Moon they talk about.
When i sent it to Sandia Labs they said it was astounding ,and  they sent a Man there to take some readings.

He got back to me and asked if it had rained within the last few days.
It had and the dew point was very high.
He also said that it was that way only smaller when they went up there at night.
The red contrast is the sand in the air blowing in from the west over the desert dunes earlier that day.
Sunspot observatory said they also had witnessed this.
All of that isn't what eventually got their attention , it was the plants !
Milkweed , and it looked like it had been mowed at a perfect hight.
Milkweed bleeds a milky substance when it is cut ,these plants were not bleeding at all.

The tree i am beside was alive earlier that day , so i get to go answer some questions.
I have more , but im trying to show that most all things we are assuming are spooky ,in the end are man made.
Matter can neither be created nor destroyed ,only altered.
Energy is constant , it slips through barriers we can not even imagine.
We are both ,and we are not allowing our brains to expand as they should because we stay locked in our old superstitions.

In Roswell they have a suit of armor from a Spanish Conquistador.
Also there are his battle ax ,and his sword.
These heavy items were carried by the man who wore that armor.
He was barely 5 ft 2 inches tall ,and he was a large man in his time.
Our body's have became better at resisting illness ,and we have grown larger over the last 500 years.
Yet our brains still use less than 12 to 15 % of what we truly can do.
A Psychic who is for real ,only knows she has that power because of the acquaintance of it to ancient times as to what it is called or used for.
The reality of this is she is more sensitive to the energy around her , we would be also if we just listened.

Do you ask these things and assume others because you simply wish or have a need to prove me wrong ?
That is very Forum like of you.
I never said the photo of that moon was on the water ,you assume i said that.
Listen to what is being said ,not what you think or wish was said.
You want more stuff ? i have albums of things like this.

OK .i guess you have never been at sea and witnessed a temperature inversion ?
A fairly common event my friend ,only blue.

A temperature inversion condition will produce a flattened and/or double-inverted image of the sun or moon at the horizon.

The moon pic you show is doctored (in other words, it's phony). I can only wonder why anyone would claim that it isn't, considering the numerous and obvious flaws.

Your picture has been faked digitally, but here's a tutorial on how to do it with film in case anyone wants to try some old-school photographic artwork...

I guess whoever fixed your pic for you didn't read the recommendation from the author of the above page...

"Don't make your photos look too unrealistic - i.e. don't have the moon too big on the photo when it doesn't match with the composition."

As a young soil scientist for USDA, my supervisor and I were working in a rural part of the county mapping soils.  We went into a large wooded area  behind some large fields and a house.  Soon after entering the woods, we began to notice a bunch of small plastic packets filled with white powder strewn throughout a stretch of the woods.  We broke one packet open, careful not to touch the powder with our hands.  Neither of us knew anything much about drugs, but assumed thats what we were looking at.  We debated taking one back and turning it it to the sheriff, but in the end, we just left and never told the authorities.  Too many people had seen us go in the woods, and we often work remote areas by ourselves and were not allowed to carry firearms.   After some more though, we finally came to the conclusion that someone was smuggling drugs in by aircraft and had to dump thier load for some reason.

Yep, been awhile since I replied to this thread, but the ammo cans of poo reminded me of a story. As a high school lad I remember a friend and I stumbled across a thermos. Typical plaid thermos, nothing special... I uncapped it and, noting it was full, took a whiff of the contents. Keep in mind it was early evening after a 90+ degree summer day. The contents were apparently vomit. Oh yes, hot steamin' puke in a thermos. I made a 'WAH-HEEEEOOOOOOOO!!!" sound and slung that thermos to the ground. My friend picked it up and brought it back to the pizza shop I was working at in order to clean it out and give it to his father. I didn't ask, nor did I want to. Suffice it to say he had a complex relationship with his dad...
