Live Trapping Bobcats
« on: October 22, 2006, 05:03:47 AM »
Saw a video on live trapping bobcats and they were using RP Live Traps. Has anybody used these traps, had good luck with any others, and what is the sucess rate of catching bobcats with live traps?

Have trapped for 8 years, given it up, and thinking about taking it up again.

our live traps are all homemade but we have had good luck trapping bobcats with live traps. actually it is the only way we catch them.  we use some variety of bird for bait (dead birds like ducks or pigeons work pretty good too) and leave the bait available , dont put it in the closed off portion of the trap. some years we catch a bunch, and some years not so many, just depends on the population of cats that year
