As I was beginning to clean my Huntsman after getting back from the range yesterday, I realized that I had taken about 15-20 shots and hadn't "broken" the breech plug once during my session. Anticipating the worst, I fitted the socket wrench on my 25ACP conversion breech plug and without any problem, proceeded to remove the plug. No stuck plug problem at all!
But man, that plug was caked with gunk from the session. And it was really baked on.
"Great!" I thinks to myself. "How am I going to get this off?"
I poured a little Ed's Red in a tuna fish can and dropped in the breech plug. About five minutes later I took it out and, using a paper towel, had it looked like new. It took about 60 seconds. Even the "flame channel" was spanking clean.
Anyone tried Ed's Red on the bore? Know of any reason not to do it?
