Shooting and hunting are dying and its because people are not introducing our youth to the sports. Are you doing your part?

Been too tied up with work, church and youth soccer (coaching 6 & 7 year olds) to do any shooting the last few weeks.

I take my boys, and their friends out to shoot as often as I can get away with, but not as often as I would like...
Took my 12 yr old out to the range yesterday for a little fine tuning before the MO youth deer season this coming weekend.
There has never been anything more satisfying than watchin my older son take his first deer with his .243 Handi rifle a couple a years ago...
As soon as my boys are too old for the youth season, I'm hopin to find some other kids to take out....

My daughter (14) and I go on a regular basis. We scheduled her for a hunter safety course this past weekend. She will be going on her first deer hunt this November. Really pumped about that.
It bothers my mother-in-law, but my point is that education is key when it comes to firearms and our younger generation. If all they ever hear from you is, "no, don't touch"; then the curiosity lingers and grows. That's when you run into problems. My brother-in-law and I are working on introducing his son and daughter to shooting and hunting - still having some chanllenges with their mom.

Took my wife pheasant hunting. My daughters are happy to eat game but want no part of getting it/preparing it. I don't have any other family, so I guess I failed the test.
