Encore Question?
« on: April 17, 2003, 01:40:02 PM »
I have a 308 Encore that  I just love. I bought the 308 because I figured it could be all around handgun in that caliber from the ocasional Varmint, to Deer and larger, to plinking, and target shooting. Brass is easy to get for reloading and the Milsurp ammo is good and cheap and noncorrosive. The British Match Milsurp is expeccially good. My one question is I heard at a other place that some of the encores had sloppy firing pin assemblys? Has anyone seen or heard this the one on my gun seems tight and not sloppy or loose? I have killed 2 deer with mine one offhand and one using a rest. I really like it and plan to reload for it this summer. Does anyone have any loads or a site to find some good ones for the Encore. I had some bullets that was given to me with 125 grain hollow points reloaded up for P dog shooting and they were accurate and mild shooting. But the guy that reloaded them misplaced his records on what he used. :( Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Never heard that one before, I have several and have shot a ton of them. Never seen a firing pin problem yet. That sounds like one of those stories that get started and takes off with no truth to it at all.  KN

JH45Gun,

Try the following URL for some basic 308 Encore loads:

If I had a dollar for every time I wanted another Contender or Encore, I'd have about $855,627,452,918
