32-40 Sharps

  In the process of buying an 1875 Sharps in 32-40, current production by the C Sharps company.
  Anyone have experience with smokeless powder and one of the 170 JFP bullets (Horn/Speer)?
  I see refernece to loading a TCR and getting 2400-2500 fps. Is this reasonable? Can the 30" Sharps barrel get a little more MV?
  No, im not trying to make a magnum out of it but I do want all the performance I can get.

I am not trying to be a smart arse, but one doesnt buy a 32-40 with the intention of getting everything they can out of it.
You have a  a MARVELOUSLY accurate CLASSIC caliber, in a beautiful classic firearm. Load it and shoot it as it is intended. You will LOVE IT!!!
Find a lead bullet you like. Load to moderate velocities and astonish your buddies as you continually out shoot them!!!
If you intend to hunt with it, load up those 170SPs to loading manual velocities and keep the ranges short.

Go shoot a magnum and load that up to top velocity and forget about hot rodding the 32-40.

These are just my humble opinions. No offence meant.

BTW, Its one on my all time favorite calibers!!!
