problem with new encore 300WM barrel?

Anyone ever had this before?

When loading the round it stops when the ridge on the back of the casing hits the extractor. You have to really force it to go in. If the extractor is pushed in it wont go in at all, the extractor has to be pulled all the way out. Will this go away over time or is this something i have to deal with? I can just see me having to re-load fast in a hunting situation and not being able to because the round gets stuck 3/4 of the way in.

Are you shooting factory ammo or reloads? If you are shooting reloads, are you full length sizing your brass?

I had the same problem, I just bent the extractor a little to allow the round to go in the chamber a little faster. Make sure you don't over bend it, it my not extract the round. What happens is the belt gets stuck on the extractor and makes it hard to feed the round into the chamber. It worked for me.

mine did it too....just polish the sharp edges off the ejector

+1 on the bending the extractor. I have had to do this with a couple of new barrels. Just don't get carried away.   KN

Sorry it took so long for the update,

 I started to bend it but I didnt feel very good about it. So I took a small tapered rasp and filed down a little at a time. After about 30 minutes of this it was right. Now it was rough and was scratching the casing of the round. So I took some 80 grit sand paper and lightly sanded the edge. After about 5 minutes it was perfect. Now it has a "factory" looking edge on it and it feeds perfect. And I killed two deer with it this weekend in GA! Great gun, great round.
