Tim, Mac,.....
Well it has been a while since I visited this site, so am not up to date. Kind of an awsome project to say the least. I have been bitten by the BR accuracy bug. Started out when I bought a Savage rifle in 243 that shot better than anything I had. Then I had to go and get a pacnor 6BR barrel to fit it. Boy, does it shoot. Now I have the full race benchrest rifle. Viper action, Kreirger barrel, McMillian stock, Jewell trigger, Weaver 36x scope, yada, yada on the equipment to support it. Got the rifle this summer and have only had time for about 250-300 rounds thru it. So far, the best 5 shot group measured 0.105. Had two other groups 0.2 grain under and above this load that went .154 and .160. Now I have gotten so used to small groups that the rifles I have definately will shoot better than I can hold them. To shoot consistent good groups you need to be able to read the wind. A long and steep learning curve for me.....at my age. But it is a hoot. Next spring I will start shooting in some regional matches, God willing. I have to drive about 120 miles to each range. I have been to both as a "spectator" and caught the bug. Now any group of five shots over 0.250 is a total train wreck. Funny how things change. Guess I will give my favorite handi to my oldest grandson....Don
