gunsmith data needed

Can not get the search feature to work for me so thought i'd just ask.

Recently sometone found a gunsmith who used a electronic discharge method to rechamber. Can someome steer me to him, or the thread I saw.

I have heard of companies porting barrels by this method...but haven't heard of them doing any kind of chambering work with it..Sorry..

i think you are talking about mike sirios(sp) at OTT (on target technology) i can't seem to find their website at the moment. Ask on a tc site and you will get direction.

The rear end of the Handi brrel is not all that different from an Encore which they do. Although they do no rebore jobs so you would have to use two different outfits.
Not worth the trouble, there is nothing wrong with a reamed chamber.

Yes, they have Handi data on their website, and we discussed their experience with the Handi.

All you need to provide is a sample case or accrurate drawing of what you want. And for $100.00(US) plus return postage, I think it's a deal. Most local smiths will charge as much, and then you might have reamer rental fees also.

You are absolute ly right. What I ment was that if you wanted to convert a Handi barrel from a 223 to a 257R. You would have to rebore first and then send the barrel to have the chamber done by EDM.

So my 257 Roberts or the 6x47 cost  me $ 265 Can including the chamber all done in the same shop. Or if I have my own reamer the cost is the same.

I think it is a great deal to cut a chamber by suplied dimensions. I designed several chambers and had to get two reamers one for the dies and one for the chamber at $140 each. So a custom idea doing it with EDM is the way to go. No argument.

Where some of the problems come in with the Handi's are some of the sloppy chambers and throats that will not clean up and will remain so eaven with the new bore.

That is why I like to use a barrel that will provide a new chamber together with a new bore. Some AI chamber reamers are not cleaning up the standard chamber particular at the base

Not a bad price if their bores are as concentrict as they say..and it looks like they will cut dies for you too...Cool...Always nice having another gunsmithing service available..I wonder if they could do complete barrels for the Handi..or if they would be interested...Might be worth talking to them if you haven't already...Wayne does a great job with his chambers...and I have been exceedingly pleased so-far..but he doesn't build complete barrels...otherwise I wouldn't be looking...
