Got a New Breach Plus 25acp
« on: October 27, 2006, 03:32:36 PM »
Well I got tired of all the crud buildup and trouble extracting the breachplug.  So I went to Precision Rifle and bought the breachplug that uses the .25ACP shell and primer.  What a difference.  No crud and improved accuracy.  Should have done this a long time ago.  Gun is fun to take to the range again.

I would think so.  The crud you get from the shot is not the powder but the residue from the 209 primer.  The newer ML primers are better than the standard but no as goo as the 25ACP system.  On Saturday I ws touching three shot groups at 50 yards.  The gun has always shot well but not that good.   Using 300 grain hornady SST and 100 grain s of loose triple 7 powder.

I got one for mine too. Do you get any blowback on the cases? I found that the Magtech brass (bought a bag of 100 from Midway) varies a bit in length to the point where some seal up tight(longer ones) and others allow more gas/residue to escape along the side. The conversion is very convenient. The rim of the cases fit perfectly where the 209 primer would normally go on the TC quick loaders.
