I've got a .35 Rem barrel that OCCASIONALLY misfires. Less than 1 in 20 rounds. I have posted elsewhere on this board about it when I thought that it was an ammunition problem, but I think that it is a GUN problem. I can make it misfire by gently closing the barrel. The hammer cocks, and drops on firing, but never contacts the firing pin. Is this a lock up problem or what?
Is there a home remedy and should I tackle it a week before a big hunt? The gun is 100% reliable with a brisk closing action.
I've also been giving thought to having this barrel rechambered to .358 JDJ. I suppose that Mr, Jones would ensure 100% reliable funcion if I asked him pretty please and included a bigger check, Right?
