ithaca shotguns no longer made??

the gun dealer told me ithaca shotgums are no longer made, since they were not in his catalog. Is this true?

They have been in and out of business so many times it's hard to keep up but I "think" they just got bought and are back in production or soon will be. Dunno what all they will be making.

Last I heard, they had a plant in the Midwest to make Model 37's. I think that is sort of barking up the wrong tree. They need to go back to making SxS's like the NID I own from 1930. Can't kill the durn thing. Or they could maybe get into the high end double shotgun market. With so many pumps around, at all levels of quality, I don't think there is a market for the 37. Just my opinion.

They make a great pump but there just isn't a market for a really great pump, I don't think. I use pumps nearly exclusively but I shoot Model 12's, which just about closed the book on what a great pump ought to be.  ;)
