My new 32 mag. Single-Six conversion...
« on: October 29, 2006, 01:22:32 PM »
It has a Douglas barrel, line bored cylinder, half moon ejector, and Lett silver/black laminated grips. It shoots fantastic with both 85g, and 100g XTP-HP's loaded warm, or light.

It's now going to be my primary revolver that goes everywhere I do. ;D

I can give an after, but it started out as a 22/22 mag., and I took it to Dave before I ever shot it. It's the only gun I ever bought, and never shot. :o

I'll post some pictures of groups on paper as soon as I can get to the range again with it.

Jerry,

I'm just wondering how much the muzzleblast/noise of a .32 mag shot out a revolver is comparable to.  Is it more like a .357 in that it nearly busts your eardrums, or is it a little easier like a .22?  Never shot one, or been around one. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

How did you get the firing pin location changed???  Is there enough metal in the cylinder to do a 7.62x25 (9mm case head) for a spare.

The blast is like a 9mm or 38 special but a little milder. My question is what it costs to your door? I would like to have a Single Six made into a 25/20 and was wondering about the cost. Is the blued version cheaper than the stainless steel conversion?

 cattleskinner,

Like Flash said, it's comparable to a 9MM, but when loaded up hot, it does start to resemble the crack from a full house 357 magnum. It lacks the tremendous boom part of the sound, but that ear splitting crack can be felt after the velocity passes about 1200-1250 fps.

Kmrere42,

I'm not sure "exactly" what's involved in that, but I can tell you that he had to install a block in the frame, and then do the centerfire conversion.

Flash,

I payed about $350 for the gun(new). We actually worked out a mutualy benifitting deal on this gun, but if I'd payed it all in cash, it would've been considerably more than $1000 for the work he did on it. I don't believe in giving exact figures on something like this as every custom gun is different. Dave did tell me though that he'd never do another 32 magnum conversion on this particular revolver again. You'd have to call him up, and see what he says.

I can tell you this. This revolver is amazingly accurate with every single combination I've run through it so far. It'll bust pop bottle caps at 25 yards all day long, even with "MY" cast bullets! LOL! I've already busted quite a bit of game/varmints with it. I'll shoot some groups with it after Christmas at 25, and 50 yards, and post them here at GB's for you to look at. If you're considering "any" kind of custom gun work, I'd "highly" recommend Mr. Clements. From what I've seen(been up to his shop several times) everything he does is fantastic.
