Savage/Anshultz Mark 12
« on: April 18, 2003, 10:44:57 AM »
I have a Savage/Anshultz Mark 12 that I bought years ago. I have never found out much about this rifle except that it was made in Germany for Savage back when Savage was importing Anshultzs. The receiver is not a 54 or a 64. I've heard that the 1451's were built on an action made just for that model. Could the Mark 12 also be built on a 1451 action, or does it also have it's own action? How many actions did Anshultz build?
The Mark 12 wears a target style stock, it has an adjustable trigger, a bull barrel, and is extremely accurate. I have always been pleased with this rifle, but would like to know a little more about this mysterious lil single shot.

Your guess is as good as mine? I looked in 2 books plus Numerich gun parts and could not find a reference to a MK 12 anywhere? I did see a MK10 but no MK 12. I would go to Savages Web site and email them the particulars of your rifle and or Anchultz webpage if they have one I would think they do and email them and I am sure they will send you the info you want. expeccially since it is not in any books at least not the ones I have. A multi search engine like dogpile will help you find what you are looking for faster, at least it works good for me.  Good luck and let us know what you find out. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
