New to Trapping

For some time I have thought about starting to trap.  What equipment do I need and what tips do you have for starting out trapping coon, opossum, coyote, and bobcat.

Kind of hard to explain what you all might need. Trap sizes, stakes, bait, how to set/bait, and where. Your best bet is to ask around your area and hopefully hook up with someone that has experience. If it works right, he/she can show you the basics and how to do this the right way. Also, I strongly encouarge you to call your local DNR and ask about trapping classes. Up here in WI, you have to go through  a course similar to hunters safety before you can trap (except us old farts that got grnadfathered in). You can read all you want, but nothing will teach you better than a couple of weeks with some smelly old trapper! Hopefully, this can get you off to a positive start and not discourage you.

 ;)
If a tree falls in the woods and my wife is not there to hear it...is it still my fault?

a couple of 11\2 coil springs for coon and posumn, and a couple a 2 coils for bobcat and yote, rotten fish oil is the best for coon and posum at a cubby set, while a flat set with  urine will get the coyote,as for other gear, a hatchet, shovel, trap stakes, thick trapping wire,a 22.rifle,and a bowie knife.
